The Calvi area: Revellata, B17 and Sec du Clocher
The Calvi area is one of the best-known diving areas in Haute-Corse. It is home to several iconic sites, appreciated for their underwater landscapes, history and biodiversity.
Punta Revellata
Punta Revellata is one of the must-see sites in the Calvi area. The site offers a gradual relief, with areas accessible to beginner divers and deeper sections for experienced divers.
You'll discover a typical Corsican Mediterranean landscape: jagged rocks, drop-offs, fault zones, gorgonians, encrusting anemones and plenty of fish. Depending on the route, you may see groupers, dentex, barracudas, moray eels, spiny lobsters or schools of white seabream.
It is a popular site for its versatility: it suits a range of levels, from supervised divers to experienced divers.
The B17 wreck
The B17 wreck is one of the most memorable dives in Balagne. This American Second World War bomber lies at the foot of Calvi's citadel, on a seabed around 28 metres deep.
This dive combines historical interest with an underwater atmosphere. The wreck lies on the sand, with several parts still visible. The plating, engines and structures provide plenty of shelter for marine life: white sea bream, damselfish, moray eels, conger eels, scorpionfish and nudibranchs can be seen there.
Because of its depth, this dive is reserved for divers with the necessary qualifications, such as PE40 divers or equivalent, depending on how the outing is organised.
Le Sec du Clocher
Sec du Clocher is a more demanding dive, intended for experienced divers. The site offers a blue-water atmosphere, deep reliefs, walls and areas where you can see beautiful gorgonians.
This dive is reserved for suitable profiles, depending on the day's conditions and the divers' qualifications. It appeals to lovers of rocky landscapes, depth and vertical scenery.
The Danger d'Algajola: the signature spot of Algajola Sport & Nature
The Danger d'Algajola is the centre's signature site. It is a vast rocky plateau off Algajola, marked by a rock rising close to the surface that has historically been a hazard to shipping.
Underwater, this plateau offers several diving options. Its size allows for different routes with varied atmospheres: drop-offs, rocky boulders, crevices, canyons, sandy areas and plateaus.
It is a particularly interesting area because it suits several diver profiles. Depending on the zone chosen, the depth and the route, the Danger d'Algajola can suit supervised divers as well as more experienced ones.
Marine life is often abundant: groupers, sea bream, dentex, barracudas, moray eels, white seabream and damselfish move around the rocks. It is an ideal site to appreciate the diversity of the Balagne seabed.
